Public health authorities conclude that the Irish population should eat more fish, particularly so given our island nation status.

Many sources of fish are low in fat meaning they are a great source of lean protein. It’s one of the best animal sources of protein, with much less saturated fat then red meat. Protein levels across fish types vary. Omega-3s are essential for brain development and reducing age-related deterioration, associated with heart health, prevention of blood clots and may help to lower blood pressure. Fish can also help to develop healthy nervous system, eyes and skin.
